John E. Turnquist Jack Turnquist was from Atlin where his parents were long-time residents. Jack enlisted for service in the Second World War and joined the Radio Department of the RCAF. In December 1940, he was in Toronto and expected to leave for overseas any day.((//The Whitehorse Star// (Whitehorse), 20 December 1940.)) His parents moved to Whitehorse a few years before 1946. FI/O John Turnquist, RCAF, returned to Whitehorse in January 1946 after serving for five years.
