Joseph Vogler (d. 1993)
	
Joe Vogler started the secession movement “Free Alaska” to join Alaska, Yukon, and part of northern British Columbia in a separate country with laws favourable to miners. He was an American citizen but did not want to be buried in Alaska if that state was part of the United States. Vogler and his wife Doris are buried in Dawson’s New Public Cemetery.((Dawson City Museum. 2018 website:
