Charles W. Watts (d. 1900)
	
Charles Watts ran a weekly newspaper in Albany, New York called the //Telescope.// He stampeded to the Klondike with friend Duncan Monteith in November 1897. He briefly ran a hotel and mess hall at Bennett City and sent stories out regularly to the //Oregonian// for five dollars a column. Watt lived on Eldorado and Bonanza creeks in the Klondike. When the United States won the Battle of Santiago, Watt read the dispatch to a crowd of 400 in front of a Dawson newspaper office. He was the secretary of a literary society in Dawson.
