Bob Bailey (b. 1937)

Bob Bailey was born in Quebec and moved to Watson Lake in the 1950s. He married Jessie Porter, a Kaska woman, at Fireside, British Columbia and they raised their family in Watson Lake. Bob was president of the Watson Lake YANSI Local from 1973 to 1974 and in 1976. In 1975 the Local did a feasibility study for a craft shop in the area. Bob ran the Watson Lake Signpost Hotel for many years and in 1975 completed two cross-country ski trails for the Watson Lake Ski Club. The family moved to Whitehorse in the late 1970s and left the Yukon when Bob retired in the 1980s.1)
