Donald “O.D.” Brown (1918 - 1985)
O.D. Brown served five years with the Irish Regiment of the Canadian Army [Primary Reserve infantry in Sudbury] and received a pension. He left Toronto and rode the rails [railway] for seventeen years before he arrived in the Yukon. He did several jobs in the Yukon and his trade was driving truck. He looked like an iconic sourdough and became a favourite target for tourist’s cameras and a model for Jim Robb’s artistry. He was a member of Jim’s Colourful Five Percent.1)
