Hazel Booth

Hazel Booth, of Teslin, Grant Booth, her visiting brother from Ontario, and Matt Schenck and Sean MacKinnon of Whitehorse were able to drag a moose out of the water at Kathleen Lake on Boxing Day, 2004. The moose had gone through the ice where an avalanche had come down to the lake and broken the ice. The moose's back legs were in the water, and it was covered in ice. The four got a rope around him and dragged him out of the water and he revived enough to seek cover and start to browse.1)
