Nakhela Bunbury is a dedicated matriarch and passionate advocate for the preservation of the Southern Tutchone language and culture. Nakela was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025 in recognition of her contributions as a teacher and cultural keeper who has inspired others to cherish and protect our heritage for future generations.¹⁾
