Richard Babb (b.1886)

Richard Babb was born in Sydenham, Kent County, England. He was living in Dawson as a single man in 1911.¹⁾ Babb was a miner in November 1914 when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.²⁾ He had an undivided half interest in the “Rose” mineral claim on the left limit of Gold Run Creek, with Samuel J. Thurber owning the other half. ³⁾ Lieutenant Babb was wounded in 1917.⁴⁾ He achieved the rank of captain during the war.⁵⁾ Richard Babb was captured by the Germans in 1918.⁶⁾
