Stanley G. Bridcut (1925 – 2008)

Stan Bridcut and Jimmy Close formed the Watson Lake Flying Service in 1961 and they operated the company in the Yukon, northern B.C. and NWT until 1997 with many pilots and engineers in their employ.1) Bridcut and Close were co-owners of the Watson Lake Air Service in 1965. They bought Jack McCallum’s Super Cub and put it into the work schedule of their four planes. They flew charters for several government and business operations as well as for some private groups. As a side-line, they also flew American hunters and their guides. The Super Cub did well until one of their pilots crashed it the next year. Stan rebuilt it and sold it to a buyer in the United States.2)
