Andrew Connors
Andrew Connors grew up in southwestern Ontario and moved to the Yukon in 1991. He worked a number of jobs before focussing on film for his creative outlet.1) He directed and co-wrote the documentary Shipyards Lament (2001) for CBC Newsworld, and two television documentaries about the artists George Sawchuk - Hands, Head, Heart (1998), and Neil Graham - Facing Miles Canyon (2004). His Artifacts is a thirty-six-minute film about the Keno Hill mining region and a companion piece to the live performance documentary luckyburden: songs + film that he performs with singer-songwriter Kim Barlow.2)
Connors was a board member and then became the artistic director of the Yukon Film Society, and is a founder and director of the annual Available Light Film Festival.3)
