Clara Donnessey

Clara Donnessey is a member of the Wolf Clan. Her mother was Annie George, daughter of the well-known Kaska elder, George Steel. Clara’s father was Sambo Bob. Clara was a trapper and also worked in the Yukon Forest Products sawmill in Watson Lake. She became the first Kaska language teacher at Watson Lake Elementary School in 1978. She married Fritz Donnessey and they had nine children.¹⁾
