John P. Douglas (d. 1918)
John Douglas was from Hythe, Alberta.1) He was riverboat captain. In 1903, Captain Douglas was the master of the steamer Tyrell, in the spring of 1907 he was master of the Charles H. Hamilton, in 1908 he was master of the John C. Carr, and in 1914 he was master of the Nasutlin.2)
In 1918, Captain Douglas was master of the Nasutlin and working for White Pass & Yukon Route. He lived in Dawson and bought a ticket to Vancouver at the end of the season. He drowned in 1918 when the Princess Sophia sank in the Lynn Canal.3)
