Joseph Elias

Alfred Charlie remembers First Nation minister Reverend Joseph Elias coming to Johnson Creek by police boat in 1940. It was the only time a minister came to the little community in the summer. In the winter of 1936 or ’37, Rev. Julius Kendi and Rev. Joseph Kyikavichik came by dog team from Old Crow to hold a service.1)
