Matthew Henry “Harry” Ewing
Harry Ewing came to Yukon with the Canadian Army’s Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. He was posted to Dawson where he met Elizabeth Grant, his first wife. Elizabeth was a niece of Robert Henderson. Harry was posted south but the family returned to Mayo in 1942. He ran the weather station and registered Mayo’s lowest temperature reading of -62˚C (-80˚F) in 1947.1)
