Cora Louise Grant, nee Sheaves (1930 – 2020)

Cora Grant was born in New Westminster, British Columbia. In the 1950s she travelled to Skagway on the Princess Louise and worked at Bennett during the summers. She met Moe Grant on her trips into Carcross. They married in 1953 and moved to Whitehorse where they lived in a house built in 1901. They had two boys, George and David. Cora collected antiques and sold them from the house. Her sign was a familiar Whitehorse site: Old Stuff, Collectibles and Antiques. She restored furniture and was a talented artist. Cora spent many hours at her cabin on Schwatka Lake and enjoyed being there in February when the chickadees were active during the longer days.1)
