Gordon Gee (d. 2019)
Gordie Gee was raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. After high school he worked hauling oil-drilling equipment all over the prairies. He and his high-school sweetheart, Elaine Olson, were married in 1956 and they moved to Estevan. Gordie bought a truck and started building a company, Geordie’s Trucking. He and the family moved to Edmonton for seven years and then to Whitehorse in 1965, where they could see great opportunities for delivering goods for oil-drilling. Elaine always took an active part in the business and became the chief financial officer. The business became Yukon Freight Lines in 1972. Geordie and Elaine sold the business in 1980s and retired to Jamestown, Indiana.1)
