Garret Gillespie
Garret Gillespie holds a Master’s degree in agricultural engineering. He moved to the Yukon around 2000. Around 2010 he started researching industrial compost containment.1) He is the inventor of a machine that takes plastics out of compost. He developed the process over a six-year period while he was operating the Whitehorse compost facility. His company, Boreale Compost Enterprises Ltd. partnered with Vemeer Canada Inc. to tour the machine, called the Compost Liberator System, across North America in 2017.2)
