James Giczi

Whitehorse Yukoner and RCMP sergeant James Giczi received the Meritorious Service Decoration (MSD) in 2015 for his work establishing a central resource to identify tire mark matches. He created a comprehensive database on his own time. The database is regularly used by the RCMP, the Ontario Provincial Police, the Surete du Quebec, and other municipal police services. The MSD (Civil Division) is one of the highest distinctions a Canadian civilian can receive.¹⁾
