James Gillies (b. 1881)

James Gillies was born in Scotland. He served twelve years with the North-West Mounted Police / Royal North-West Mounted Police (RNWMP).1) He was a RNWMP constable in Dawson from 1905 to 1910 and a corporal in Dawson from 1911 to 1910.2) Gillie was working as a miner in the Dawson area when he enlisted in 1916 to serve in the First World War. He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England by August 1917.3)
