David Hugh William Howe (1943 – 2020)

David Howe was born in Rochdale, England and attended boarding school in northern Scotland. He immigrated to Canada and worked at Cassiar before moving to Dawson where, in 1966, he worked on Dredge No. 6 for Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp. He met his future wife, Eva, when he was working in Sweden as a DJ and they came to Dawson in 1972 to start an adventure tour company. The moved to Whitehorse a few years later and opened a travel agency which David expanded into Alaska in 1991. In 2002, they moved to Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast and spent the summer in Atlin. In 2012, they sold their travel agency to their partner Tor. David loved hiking, biking, flying his Cessna, and marathon running, and he and Eva loved travelling the world. David was a fantastic storyteller with a quirky sense of humour.1)
