Fred Hickling (1861 - 1941)

Fred Hickling was born in Nottingham, England. He was a contractor and builder by trade. He arrived in the north in 1898 and never left.1) In 1921, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hickling assisted at St. Paul’s Hostel in Dawson, an Anglican residence for school children whose parents did not live in town.2) Fred Hickling appears in a photo of officials with the Yukon Order of Pioneers taken around 1938.3)
