Helen Holden

Helen Holden was blamed for the fire on April 26, 1899 that burned its way through downtown Dawson. Holden lived in a room above the Bodega Saloon. A six-man jury found no evidence to prove where the fire had started but they recommended that prostitutes be banned from all public buildings other than licenced hotels.1)
