Leonard S. Kingston (d. 1943)

Leonard Kingston joined the RCMP in Regina in 1912. He took his discharge in 1915 to serve in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. He returned to Canada in 1919 and rejoined the RCMP. Around 1936, he came from Carcross to assume charge of the Whitehorse station. In 1938, he was awarded the RCMP silver medal or long service and good conduct.1) On his retirement in 1943, Kingston and his wife left Whitehorse and settled at a residence he called ‘Carcross’ at Chewton Way, Highcliffe, Hants, England. Kingston died in his sleep after a lingering illness.2)
