Ivan Simonsen Lukeen
Ivan Simonsen Lukeen was a Spanish-Russian-American Creole and employee of the Russian American Company. He travelled up the Yukon River to the Hudson Bay post at Fort Yukon, proving that the Russian Kvikhpak River and the Canadian Yukon River were the same, a fact previously doubted by the Russians.1) Russia sold Alaska to the United States in 1867.
