Dudley and Reita Morgan
Dudley Morgan and his wife Reita moved to Kingston, Ontario from Jamaica. They met in school and both graduated from the Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing. They were married in 1968 and moved to the Yukon in the 1980s.1)
Reita worked at Social Services and, in 1986, Dudley was developing Yukon College’s rural campuses. While working in the Yukon, Dudley received a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Reita received a master’s degree in Child Welfare. They volunteered for community organizations and adopted a son, Rodney, in Jamaica in 1985.2)
In 1995, Dudley Morgan received the national Leadership Excellence Award from the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.3) Reita and Dudley moved to Calgary in 2006 where Dudley founded an organization offering post-secondary education to students in Africa. In 2013, he received the Governor General’s Jamaica Diaspora Award of Excellence.4)
