Henry Meyers (1887 – 1910)

Henry Meyers was born in Berlin, Germany and was the youngest of a large family. He served three years in the German navy and then came to Whitehorse to help his sister and her husband, L.B. Davis. Davis owned and operated the only steam laundry in town. In July 1910, Henry was stricken with typhoid and died at the Whitehorse hospital two weeks later.1) His illness may have been caused through drinking water from a well at the Davis’ home.2)
