J. V. Millington
J.V. Millington came to Whitehorse in 1897 and worked with Norman Macaulay in operating the tramway at Whitehorse Rapids. When the town was located at its present site, Millington was employed by Macaulay to superintend the construction of the White Horse hotel. The hotel became one of the town’s leading hostels. In 1901, Millington was a trusted employee and looked after the affairs of the house when Macaulay was away.1)
