Ralph Everett Merkel (1925 - 2004)
Ralph Merkel came from Saskatchewan to Cassiar, British Columbia and later worked on the Teslin bridge where he met Nora Edzerza. After a brief courtship, they married and made the Yukon their home for the next thirty years. Ralph was a carpenter and well respected in the Yukon construction industry. He was known for his calm and quiet wisdom. Merkel supervised many major projects around the territory.1)
