Richard David Moses (1944 – 2007)

Richard Moses was born in Dawson and lived his life in Mayo and other Yukon communities. He was a man of many talents and over his life he fought fires, worked as a grader operator, did carpentry work, was the Mayo Village foreman making sure the water was safe to drink, and he added his expertise and dedication to the land claim mapping and negotiation process for the Na Cho Nyak Dun. Richard loved hunting, checking his fishnet, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. He loved the hot weather and snorkelling in Hawaii. He loved to read and taught himself how to do things through books.1)
