Thomas “Blondie” Mallott (1858 - 1934)

Thomas Mallott came to American from England. He patrolled the streets of Dawson for the North-West Mounted Police during the gold rush and stayed on for several years after. He travelled to Fort McPherson by dog team in 1897 with another officer in the first patrol ever made. He then was sent to Hudson's Bay to recruit dogs for the Dawson police. He left Dawson to return to Tacoma where he had friends. He worked in hotels and restaurants and became an expert cook and waiter. Mallott died in Tacoma, where he had lived for the past twenty years.1)
