Henry Gordon “Gundy” McLeod (b. 1897)

Henry Gordon McLeod went to school in Dawson.¹⁾ He was working as a bank clerk in Dawson when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.²⁾ He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England in August 1917.³⁾ McLeod’s interest in a mining claim on No. 13 Above on All Gold Creek was held free of cancellation while he was away at the war.⁴⁾ Gundy McLeod returned to Dawson in June 1919.⁵⁾ The Canadian Yukon Patriotic Fund loaned returned soldier H.G. McLeod $500 on March 25, 1920 to purchase a house.⁶⁾
