Henry Gordon “Gundy” McLeod (b. 1897)
Henry Gordon McLeod went to school in Dawson.1) He was working as a bank clerk in Dawson when he enlisted to serve in the First World War.2) He was recruited by Captain George Black and was in England in August 1917.3) McLeod’s interest in a mining claim on No. 13 Above on All Gold Creek was held free of cancellation while he was away at the war.4) Gundy McLeod returned to Dawson in June 1919.5) The Canadian Yukon Patriotic Fund loaned returned soldier H.G. McLeod $500 on March 25, 1920 to purchase a house.6)
