Robert D. “Bob” MacKinnon (1928 - 1993)

Bob MacKinnon was born in PEI and moved to the Yukon in 1952 where he worked for the White Pass railroad. He spoke fluent English and Tutchone. One winter he was badly burned on the job. His wife, Emma MacKinnon (nee Tangent), was born in Alberta and her parents came from Norway. Emma spoke Norwegian and understood French and German. The first Outfitter's Ball was at Bob and Emma’s Canyon Creek Lodge.1) Robert MacKinnon represented the riding of Carmarks/Kluane Lake in the 1964-1967 Yukon legislature.2)
