Steve Nordick

Steve Nordick was originally from Saskatchewan. He was an operations manager for a petroleum company and worked as a long-haul truck driver.1) He arrived in Dawson around 1990 and worked at the old swimming pool and for Gold City Tours. 2) Tracy and Steve Nordick, purchased a bed and breakfast on Fifth Avenue in 1999.3)

Nordick served as a Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly from November 2006 until his appointment to Premier Darrell Pasloski’s Cabinet in May 2011. He had responsibility for the Department of Economic Development, the Yukon Housing Corporation, the Yukon Liquor Corporation, and the Yukon Lottery Commission. Nordick was defeated by Yukon Liberal Sandy Silver in the 2011 election.4)

After his term in office, Nordick worked running heavy equipment and at the family bed and breakfast on Fifth Avenue in Dawson. In November 2017, Steve and Tracy took over the reservation system of Dawson’s Aurora Inn and then purchased the Inn in February 2017.5)

Steve Nordik has served as a former director on the Boards of the Klondike Visitors Association and the Dawson City Chamber of Commerce.6)
