Kathyrn “Katie” Lorraine Ostrom (1943 - 2013)

Katie Ostrom was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Ontario in the 1960s and eventually to Yellowknife. In the early 1970s, she moved to the Yukon and met partner Clay Martin who shared her interest in the wilderness, hunting, and horses. They built a home on the old White Pass & Yukon Route horse ranch on the Horse Creek Road in the 1980s. Katie worked for the City of Whitehorse Parks and Recreation for many years and managed the Takhini Arena. She also helped with Clay's big game outfitting business, Pelly Mountain Outfitters. They had a large market garden and greenhouse and expedited for several big game outfitters.1)
