Mike Rourke

Mike Rourke graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1977 with a diploma in Renewable Resources, and from the University of Alberta in 1988 with B.Ed degree.1) He and his wife Jocelyn lived about ten years in the Yukon in the 1970s and ‘80s. About half of the years were spent in Faro. He and Jocelyn spent hundreds of hours in the Yukon Archives researching Yukon history and they travelled the rivers in Yukon, NWT, and Alaska. Their children, Matthew and Gillian, went with them starting at a very early age. The Rourkes moved to Prince George, BC and in 1983 formed Rivers North Publications to produce their river guides.2) The Rourkes have published eleven guidebooks on Yukon rivers with Rivers North, located in Prince George.3)
