David Storey
David Storey and his wife drove to the Yukon in February 1974, thinking they might stay for six month or so and then move on.1) David became a practicing surgeon in the Yukon in 1977 and set up his own surgical practice in 1986. He has acted as a counsellor, caregiver, general surgeon, orthopedic surgeon, neurosurgeon, urologist, gynecologist, obstetrician, rhino-otolaryngologist, and more.2)
In 2021, David Storey was named to the Order of Yukon for his work as a surgeon in Whitehorse, and his mentorship of younger physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals in the territory.3)
