Jackie Semple (1938 – 2011)
Jackie Semple was born at Halfway below Dawson on the Yukon River, and lived at Moosehide and Dawson most of his life. He will be remembered for his character and passion for the land and his impeccable bush skills. He worked as a big game and wilderness guide, boat operator, fisherman, Canadian Ranger, and most recently as a Heritage Sites caretaker. He is predeceased by his parents Alice Isekkyi and Happy Jack Lasky and two brothers Chip and George “Michelle” Semple. He was survived by two sisters Peggy (Kormendy) and Linda (Chudy) and a brother John F. plus many nieces and nephews.1)
