John Sholtz
John Sholtz applied for a 160-acre homestead in 1920 on the first island immediately below the mouth of the Indian River. He had two acres under cultivation and six acres ready to plough. By 1924, he had a house, stable and hay shed was started. He had fifteen acres cleared and eleven under cultivation. Sholtz fell ill and he transferred his land to James Drugan in 1925. Drugan cancelled the land application in 1929.1)
