J.D. Skinner

J.D. Skinner became the new publisher of the Whitehorse Weekly Star in early 1924.1) In December 1921, the editor and manager of the Whitehorse Weekly Star was announced to be E. Chester Roberts.2) J.D. Skinner wrote an editorial that seemed to confirm a rumour that the previous publisher’s instability was the cause of the paper’s recent problems. Skinner went to the paper’s advertisers and presented a new plan to downsize the editions, making it strictly a community paper, and up the cost of advertisements.3)
