Rose Sellars
Rose Sellars grew up in the Yukon and is a member of the Carcross/Tagish First Nations. She has worked at four levels of government, owned a real estate company for twelve years, and sat on the Carcross/Tagish First Nations council for twelve years.1)
In 2016, Sellars sought the Liberal nomination for Copperbelt South. At that point she was the education programs coordinator for the Council of Yukon First Nations and had worked in real estate for eighteen years. She is quoted as not having much loyalty to any particular party but felt that the Liberals at that time aligned with her passion for addressing education, housing and homelessness. She also felt that the relationship between the Yukon government and First Nations could be improved.2)
In 2025, Sellars was the Indigenous partnership manager for the Yukon Environmental Socioeconomic Assessment Board (YESAB) and serving on the Yukon Fish and Game Association Board. She was a candidate for grand chief in the Yukon First Nations elections before opting to seek the Yukon Party nomination in Riverdale North, a seat held by Yukon Liberal Party MLA Nils Clarke. Clarke had announced he would not run for a third term as a member of the legislature.3)
