Anne Tempelman-Kluit (b. 1941)
Anne Tempelman-Kluit was born in Hastings, Sussex, England. She came to Canada in 1961 when she was on her way to Australia. She met and married her geologist husband and accompanied him to Yukon on his four-month excursions to the Yukon for the Geological Survey of Canada.1)
While living in Whitehorse, she was a political reporter and feature writer for the Whitehorse Star. She also wrote a column for the Globe and Mail, the New York Times, and other publications. 2)
Among Anne's publications are Yukon (Discover Canada), Children's Book Press, 1997 and A Klondike Christmas: Celebrating the Season in a Northern Frontier, edited by Anne Tempelman-Kluit. Whitecap, 1998. As a freelance writer she won a Western Magazine Award and a national award from the Canadian Science Writers’ Association.3)
