George Tribe (1860 – 1918)
George Tribe was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. For twenty-one years he spent the summers in the Yukon as an employee of the White Pass & Yukon Route working as a steward on the sternwheeler Dawson. He spent the winters in Victoria where his wife and children lived. George Tribe drowned when the Princess Sophia sank in the Lynn Canal.1)
