Theodore Einar “Teddy” Thoresen (1876 – 1918)
Teddy Thoresen was born in Christiania (Oslo), Norway and went to school in Tacoma, Washington. He came to the Yukon in 1888 and worked as a miner on several creeks, and with George N. Williams for years on Bonanza and Eldorado creeks. In 1918, he was living in Dawson and working for Yukon Gold as an engineer. He was on the Princess Sophia going to Seattle when the ship sunk and he was drowned in the Lynn Canal. He was a member of the Dawson Loyal Order of Moose. His body was sent to his brother who lived in Tacoma, and he is buried there.1)
