Walter Troberg
Walter Troberg was born in the Dawson region on Bunker Hill, Hunker Creek, the oldest son of Bertha Troberg.1) In 1927, Walter Troberg, formerly of Dawson, was slated to be the manager of Roy E. Gault Mercantile Co. in Skagway.2)
Troberg was an employee with the Yukon Consolidated Gold Corp for thirty years and, except for one year, was always connected with the thawing operation. He rose from his original job as pipe boss in 1937 to thawing foreman on Dominion Creek in 1951. He became superintendent of the combined Thawing and Stripping Operation in 1952. He eventually became Dawson’s city clerk and the family moved from Bear Creek into town.3)
