Hubert John Venn (1875 – 1918)
Hubert Venn was born in Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devon, England. He served with the Queens 13th Middlesex Regiment from 1898 to 1902. He and Rosa Alice Eyles were married in 1903. Hubert Venn was a dry goods clerk in Dawson before enlisting for service in the First World War.1) Lance Corporal Venn was recruited by Captain George Black and he was in England in August 1917.2) He died near Avion in April 1918. He was awarded the British War Medal and Allied Victory Medal.3)
