Veazie Wilson (1865 – 1895)

Veazie Wilson was born in Cherryfield, Me. He was an electrical engineer who worked in Chicago for the Illinois Central Railroad. In 1894, he led a small group into the interior and down the Yukon River in order to take photographs and write a guide to the mines in the Fortymile River area. His illustrated guide was almost finished when he was stricken with typhoid fever and died. The booklet was published in 1897 by actress Esther Lyons under her own name.1)
