Eugene Alfred (b. 1970)

Northern Tutchone/Tlingit artist Eugene Alfred is a member of the Selkirk First Nation in Pelly Crossing where he belongs to the Crow clan. Alfred studied with noted artists Dempsey Bob and Ken Mowatt and spent four years at the Kitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art near Hazelton, British Columbia.1) His work is displayed in galleries and private collections. In 2017 he was one of 150 artists to receive a REVEAL indigenous Art Award. His work is based on Northern Tutchone stories that he heard from his grandparents.2)
