A.L. Bell (d. 1920)

Constable Bell came north with the RNWMP in 1898 and was stationed at various times at Fortymile, Stewart, and Dawson. Captain Bell was in charge of the Whitehorse detachment from 1915 to the fall of 1919 when he was transferred to Vancouver.1) In March 1916, Captain Bell was the acting coroner when Alex Gagoff was hanged for the murder of four men working as a railroad section crew three miles south of Whitehorse.2) Inspector Bell died after suffering with Bright’s disease.3)
