Émile-Marie Bunoz, OMI (1864 – 1945)

Émile-Marie Bunoz was ordained an Oblate priest in the Roman Catholic Church in 1891.1) Father Bunoz took charge of St. Mary’s in Dawson in 1902. In 1908, he was named Prefect Apostolic of the newly formed Prefecture Apostolic of Yukon. He moved his headquarters to Prince Rupert in 1910.2) Father Bunoz was appointed the prefect of Yukon-Prince Rupert in 1908. He was appointed the Titular Bishop of Tentyris and the Vicar Apostolic of Yukon-Prince Rupert in 1917. He was appointed the Vicar Apostolic of Prince Rupert in 1945.3)
