Margaret “Maggie” Bremner, nee Redmond (1901 – 2009)

Maggie Bremner was born on Adams Hills at her family’s claim, and remained a Klondiker with a love of the Yukon bush her entire life. She remembered growing up and going to school in Dawson, and spending summers out on the creeks with her five brothers. She and Jack Bremner were married in 1926 and they lived in Dawson where he was the Fire Chief for many years. In 1982, Maggie was living in a vintage cabin overlooking Hunker Creek. He son Ian and his wife Gwen were living a stone’s throw away. Maggie loved to bake bread, cakes and cookies in her wood stove. She washed clothes and bed linens in a tub of water with a rub board.
